In this role I was responsible for assisting in teaching students how to conduct library preps (rapid, native, ligation barcoding kits), load flow cells, and understand the applications for the different Nanopore sequencing platforms.

-Assisted in teaching an 8 week RNAi lab-based course focused on silencing experiments in N. bentamiana, C. elegans, and CHO cells

Molecular Biology Intern - UCB Pharma
Summer 2023
At UCB Pharma's functional genomics research site in Durham, NC I assisted with their CRISPR-screening pipeline including conducting lentiviral production, bacterial transformations, cell culture, flow cytometry, stem cell differentiation, and genomic isolation.
Research Assistant in Dr. Caroline Tuckers Lab at UNC Chapel Hill
In this role, I collected data for ecological competition experiments, managed four species of freshwater zooplankton, and conducted an independent research project. My study investigated how exposure to toxic cyanobacteria affects aspects of fecundity for two zoo plankton species.
Research Assistant in Dr. Kingsolvers Lab at
UNC Chapel Hill
In this lab I focused on insect husbandry of the tobacco hornworm and its parasitoid wasp. The research of the lab was interested in how climate change will affect the parasitoid relationship between these two insect species.
